DVPA is proud to offer counseling services through the COPE program for children, adolescents, and teens who may be struggling with emotional or mental health challenges. Our nurse practitioner, Tracy Shore, is a board-certified Pediatric Mental Health Specialist and provides both regular mental health visits and specialized care through the COPE program.
The COPE program is built on a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) framework, focusing on skills to reduce negative or unhelpful thoughts, promote healthy behaviors, and improve communication and problem-solving skills. By learning these coping strategies, children, teens, and young adults can create new neural pathways in their brains, helping them manage stress, anxiety, and depressive symptoms more effectively.
When individuals shift their thoughts from negative to positive, their feelings and behaviors naturally follow, empowering them to face challenges with confidence. COPE helps participants take control of their emotions, conquer their fears, and ultimately believe in their ability to achieve their goals.
